This half term, our topics are Called and Gift. In our Called topic, we will be exploring how we respond to being chosen and about Confirmation. In our Gift topic, we will be exploring the gift of love and friendship and learning about the Church's season of preparing to recieve God's gift of love and friendship in Jesus.

In English, we will be busy writing a letter of complaint to the RSPCA about animal cruelty. We will also be starting a new Talk4Writing unit where we will explore the book Farther. We will use this story develop our grammar, punctuation and spelling skills and write our own journey tale.

In maths this half term, we will be developing our addition, subtraction, multipication and division skills of four digit numbers. It is important to practise your times tables every day as by the end of Year 4 we need to know all our times tables up to 12x12!

This half term our PE days are on a Friday and we will be focusing on indoor athletics. We will be developing our throwing, jumping and running skills for relay races, standing long and high jump and chest throw.

Children will be given homework evry Monday which needs to be returned on Thursday.  In addition to this children will be expected to read each night and return their reading book to school daily.

Should you ever wish to discuss anything about your child, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Year 4 team in order to arrange an appointment. We will be on the exit gate every evening or, you can contact the office if you wish to request an appointment.

We look forward to working with your children this year!
