Computing
Intent
At Holy Family, Computing equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. We aim to develop confident, responsible and creative users of technology who can understand how digital systems work and apply computational thinking to solve problems.
Our Computing curriculum is designed to:
- Develop pupils’ understanding of computer science, information technology and digital literacy
- Build confident learners who can use technology safely, responsibly and creatively
- Enable pupils to design, write and debug programs using logical thinking
- Provide opportunities to create, organise and present digital content
- Promote critical thinking when using online information and digital systems
- Prepare pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the digital world
The curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure progression in knowledge, vocabulary and skills from Early Years through to Year 6.
