At Holy Family Catholic Primary School, we aim to enable all pupils to grow as life-long learners, nurturing potential and resilience, developing the unique gifts given to everyone.
  • Continually raise the aspirations of and expectations for all pupils with SEND.
  • Create an inclusive environment that recognises all needs of children with SEND.
  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all pupils with SEND.
  • Prepare each individual for a brighter future in onward education and adulthood.
We will fulfil our aims through the following objectives by:
  • Working within the SEND Code of Practice (2015, latest update Sept 2024).
  • Creating an environment where all pupils are valued.
  • Enabling all children to benefit from Quality First Teaching – teachers assess, plan and teach children, adapting learning for their needs.
  • Identifying barriers to learning, including SEND, as early as possible.
  • Providing support and adaptations to allow children to make progress in all areas.
  • Closely monitoring progress towards outcomes for each child with SEND.
  • Celebrating and recognising pupils’ strengths and achievements.
  • Operating a ‘whole pupil, whole school’ approach to the management and provision for SEND.
  • Seeking timely advice from professionals and outside agencies to effectively meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Designating the role of the SENDCo, who will liaise with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Providing advice, support and training for all staff working with SEND pupils.
  • Ensuring parents and carers are involved in the identification of and provision for SEND, reporting on pupils’ progress, targets and outcomes.
